Medical Report 1

Context: a shift of 3mm is already enough to experience symptoms and disease.
In a special CBCT8 scan taken in Spain, Melissa was found to have an 11.6mm shift on the right and a 9.4mm shift on the left.
Large rotation angles were also noted during the same scan: 46.7° and 38°, indicating that the vertebrae move much more than normal.
New imaging is needed to chart progression.
This combination of this severe mechanical instability (CCI-AAI) and compression of the jugular veins explains her severe symptoms and makes specialized stabilizing surgery abroad urgently necessary.
Melissa has tried everything since this specialized imaging to avoid a crowdfunding!
Now she is left with nothing but to ask for your help so that a solution can finally be found!
More medical documentation and imaging is available upon request.
Medical Report 2

CCI-AAI = Cranio-vertebral instability and atlanto-axial rotational hypermobility.
This specialist speaks of spondylosis in the neck.
When the upper cervical vertebrae move too much (are unstable), the body tries to compensate by making the lower cervical vertebrae stiffer.
Over time, that overuse leads to Spondylosis (wear and tear) of the rest of the neck.
Therefore, during Melissa’s skull base neck surgery, the neurosurgeon will completely rebuild the neck in a way that works best for EDS patients.
Moreover, the angio-MRI shows that the jugular veins are compressed, this is also progressive without surgery and causes “overpressure CSF fluid” which means high brain pressure.
